Mission Statement

To use my position, experience, and technical knowledge in information security to help secure information systems and IT infrastructure.

About

I am a penetration tester, otherwise known as ethical hacker from Connecticut.  Outside of my professional life in information security, I enjoy many hobbies including martial arts, whitewater kayaking, kiteboarding, bonsai, footbag, snowboarding, lockpicking, fencing, skimboarding, harmonica and cooking.  I am the type of person that must always keep busy.  I have a constant need to always feel like I am doing something productive.  These days I spend much of my time working on both a book and a movie script I am writing.

Martial Arts

Thanks to my father, I have been studying martial arts since I was 4 years old.  I first studied traditional Shorin-Ryu Okinawan Karate under Sensei Butch Marino.  I later went on to study directly with the Grand Master Eizo Shimabukuro of Okinawa and was promoted to third degree black belt.  Another style of martial arts I have been training for over 10 years is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  I first studied with Kipp Kollar, the founder of NAGA (North American Grappling Association) in his basement.  Later I went on to study with the world renowned Renzo Gracie at his school in New York City.  While attending college I was the founder of a Martial Arts club and trained many other styles including Kung Fu, Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Aikido, Judo, and wrestling.  Currently, I teach a MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) class two days a week and attend a MMA class organized by Kipp Kollar once a week.

Whitewater Kayaking

I have been whitewater kayaking for over eight years. Taught, by local legends such as Bob Taylor and Jeff Marquis, I fell in love with the sport immediately. While in college I competed on the pro tour in the expert class although never acquired formal sponsorship. The experience gave me the opportunity to travel the United States and paddle with greats such as Eric Jackson, Jimmy Blakeney, Erica Mitchell, Billy Harris, Bryan Kirk, and Clay Wright. Some of my favorite whitewater destinations include Fish Creek, Lachine, New River Dries, Black River, Great Falls, Gauley River, and the Tariffville Gorge.

Kiteboarding/Snowkiting

My latest passion has been kiteboarding. It is extreme sport that combines the skills and thrills of other sports such as sailing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, surfing, snowboarding, skimboarding and powerkiting. It is not uncommon to get air as high as 30 feet while doing multiple flips. Some of my favorite spots to kite include Cape Cod, San Fransisco, and Cape Hatteras.
